Acupuncture is based on the assumption that Qi courses through channels in the body just as streams and rivers ebb and flow across the surface of the earth. Every organ has a corresponding set of channels. The acupuncture points are located in small depressions in the skin where channels come closest to the surface. Using solid, stainless steel, sterile needles inserted into acupuncture points, energy circulation is adjusted as needed to invigorate the functions of muscles., nerves, blood vessels, glands and organ. The insertion of these needles does NOT create the same sensations as receiving an injection. The needles are so much finer (smaller in diameter) that they slip right in and often the only sensation one experiences is related to the stimulation of Qi. Many people become extremely relaxed or even fall asleep.

Most people are aware of acupuncture’s effectiveness in relieving or alleviating pain. While this is an excellent way, according to the World Health Organization, to treat back pain, sciatica, neuralgias (nerve pain), bursitis, arthritis, stiff neck, headaches including migraines, and more, it can do so much more. Again, according to the World Health Organization, and due to its ability to improve blood and energy flow, strengthen organs, and balance the internal system, acupuncture is also quite effective for infections (colds, bronchitis, hepatitis, sinus infections…) high blood pressure, ulcers, colitis, high blood sugar, hypoglycemia, asthma, digestive disorders, ringing in the ears, hay fever, skin conditions, menstrual problems, infertility, impotence, PMS, PID, morning sickness, anxiety, depression, stress, insomnia, addiction recover and more.
