seconds, someone suffers a heart attack. Over 1 million people die
each year due to heart disease and related illnesses
(half of whom are women). Poor eating habits and sedentary lifestyles
have put 60% of today’s youth at risk for heart disease in the
future. Heart attacks alone kill more
people than the next nine causes of death combined.
Pulse Analyzer (DPA) is a new, FDA-approved medical device that provides
information on arterial wall stiffness and determines the biological
age of the arteries.
Using a finger probe with infrared light, the non-invasive DPA, measures
and analyzes pulse wave forms. The pulse wave, which travels through
the blood vessels in the finger, must go in one side and come out the
other. Individual factors, such as arterial hardness, plaque build-up,
cholesterol, and blood pressure will effect how fast and forceful the
than 3 minutes, a graph of the wave will appear on the DPA screen and
on a printout. The pulse
wave pattern tells a story about how the blood travels through the
body and just how healthy and
flexible the blood vessels are.
This piece of equipment is invaluable in gaining a greater understanding
of a person’s heart health. Based on DPA test results, clients
can make immediate changes to the way in which they live their lives.
Changes include making better food choices,
getting proper exercise, nutritional supplements,
yoga and other holistic practices that can actually lower the biological
age of arteries. The DPA can measure the actual improvements in heart
